We consider the start/creation of KCS was when we sent out our first invoice, which was dated 23rd December 1998 with invoice number 00001. We are now on invoice 65000.
We took on our first office in Barclays Bank Chambers in Keswick's Market Square, which featured the most amazing fireplace.
KCS was incorporated into a Private Limited Company and registered.
We had started to need more room as we expanded and started taking on staff. We then took on a second office in Barclays Bank Chambers, which was converted into our repair workshop.
With the company steadily expanding, we ran out of room in Barclays Bank Chambers and found a great place in Packhorse Court in Keswick, with far more room.
We opened a computer shop. The new offices had a ground-floor reception area, so we installed shop fittings and ventured into the world of retail.
Due to the ever-growing need for internet access, we converted part of the shop into an Internet Café, which required the removal of the downstairs toilet to create space.
WISP (Wireless Internet Service Provider). Moving to new offices, we found we were now close to a fibre node, allowing us direct fibre access on a leased line. We built a 14 meter tower and now beam out high-speed internet to customers with poor connectivity.
We were contacted by the BBC to add a weather camera to our tower, allowing people worldwide to see our view of Skiddaw.
